As organizers, we are taking concrete steps to ensure a sustainable experience, but a "Green Event" is a collaborative effort. Therefore, we invite all participants to join us in these initiatives.
Green Venue
The conference takes place at the Alte Universität Graz, a venue that holds the distinction of being the first certified "Green Location" in Styria. In addition to its historic charm, the building operates with high energy efficiency and modern waste management systems. Please click here to learn more.
Climate-Friendly Travel
Graz is excellently connected to the European railroad network. We encourage all attendees to choose train rides over short-haul flights whenever possible.
The venue is located in the heart of the city, and it is easily accessible by foot or via the local public transport system. We provide every participant with a ticket for public transportation, which is valid in the core tariff zone of Graz.
Regional & Conscious Catering
Food and beverages are a major part of any conference, and we are committed to making them sustainable.
Local & Organic: Our catering partners prioritize seasonal products from the Styrian region.
Waste Reduction: We have eliminated single-use plastics and are striving for a "zero-waste" catering approach.
Water: We encourage the use of Graz’s high-quality tap water to reduce bottled waste.
Resource Management
We are moving away from traditional conference "swag" and heavy paper usage.
Going Digital: All programs and abstracts will be available via our mobile-friendly website.
Eco-Badges: Conference badges and lanyards will be made from recycled or biodegradable materials rather than standard plastics.
Your Contribution Matters
You can help us by opting for environmentally friendly travel, using our digital program, and properly separating waste at the venue. If you must fly, please consider contributing to a CO2 compensation project.
